The Old Me

The old me, before I was born again, would have been jealous. Seeing a couple eating dinner together or shopping would have made me envious. They had a closeness I didn’t have. But now, I have Christ.

The old me would have been worried. Seeing someone with the same talents as me, with family and friends supporting them, would have made me anxious. Their confidence and security highlighted my struggles. But now, I have Christ.

The old me would have been angry. Watching people mistreat those who trust and love them would have made me mad. Their ability to ignore others when they should be reaching out was infuriating. But now, I have Christ.

I used to get anxious seeing others handle life’s challenges easily. Their calmness and ease contrasted with my constant worry. But now, I have Christ.

I would have been resentful, seeing others get opportunities and blessings that never came my way. But now, I have Christ.

We are all born with certain thoughts, ideas, and beliefs. These shape our world. But real change comes from being born again. God knows us better than we know ourselves. Only through His grace can we become better. By embracing a new life in Christ, we leave our old ways behind.

With God, everything is possible. I can sit in silence and enjoy my own company. I can work with my hands without worrying about success. Whether the world sees my work as a success or failure, it will be recognized in its own time. I can live without anger, letting others vent to each other. I’m okay with it because now I have Christ.
